The Baki family bought the property in 2001 with the hopes of creating a vineyard and winery with the help of their son, Kerem.
The family began their dream with Bora and Kerem planting each vine by hand in 2003 afterwhich, Kerem served his first wines out of tasting room that same year. Kerem's brother Tolga, assisted in the development and marketing of the vineyard and later turned his own brewmaster skills into reality by adding amazing craft beers to the
tasting room line-up.

Notaviva Farm Brewery and Winery is located on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge mountains between Hillsboro and the Appalachian Trail in western Loudoun County. The company was founded by the husband and wife team, Stephen and Shannon Mackey as a winery in 2008 and expanded in 2019 to include a brewery. The Mackeys were brought together by their love of music. As a result of that musical background all of the beverages at Notaviva are paired with a musical genre or lyrical inspiration.
